BELIEFS
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe that every word is truth.
GOD
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. This is known as the Trinity.
JESUS
We believe in the deity of Jesus, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His death to pay the price of all of our sins, His bodily resurrection, His complete victory over the power of satan (little “s” on purpose), His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His sure return.
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, and through Him living in us, to give us the ability to live full of God’s power.
THE CHURCH
We believe the church consists of all those who truly believe in Jesus Christ and His atoning death and resurrection, and who trust Him as their Lord and Savior. We believe that the local church is the hope of the world.
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must receive it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works we can only be saved from sin’s penalty by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 are available and in operation in the Body of Christ today.
BAPTISM
We believe in baptism in water (by immersion) in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that baptism shows the world what has happened on the inside of a person, how they have died to their old selves and have come alive in Christ.
HEAVEN AND HELL
We believe in the resurrection of both the lost and the saved. The lost are condemned to eternal damnation and separation from God, and the redeemed are saved to eternal life in the presence of God.
MARRIAGE
We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God.
CORE VALUES
BIBLICAL TRUTH
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Tim 3:16-17 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
AUTHENTICITY
“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence! 26 You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too.” Matthew 23:25-26
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. 1 John 1:7-10
PASSION
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ Mark 12:30
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. 6 Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. 7 Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 8 Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free. Ephesians 6:5-8
EVANGELISM
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Mark 16:15
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit — fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other. John 15:16-17
REAL RELATIONSHIPS
“They devoted themselves to the apostles; teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. “ Acts 2:42-47
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17
GOD’S POWER
“My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
Power – dunamis (doo’-nam-is) force or miraculous power, usually a miracle itself.
SERVING OTHERS
“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
Serve - diakoneo (dee-ak-on-eh-o) to be an attendant or to wait upon.
